I have created some BIF files using the instructions I found in the forum, but how do I actually call these BIF files? I assume there must be a way to add the bif file url into the XML but i'll be damned if I could find an example of it.
Someone else must have wondered how to do this at some point, or am i that dumb? I'll play with it and report back.

Set the URL values for your .bif files in the SDBifUrl and HDBifUrl content meta data parameters.
