Supersecretusername,
Kudos to you and those you work with. I have had a chance to check out some of the new channels and there is a lot to like. I was particularly interested in Earthtouch.com, videos I was really hoping to get via Mediafly. However, for whatever reasons all I get with them is constant re-buffering. The only small disappointment is all the Earthtouch.com videos are the non-commentary variety. On the plus side, the picture quality is outstanding, on par with what I get via AppleTV. Again, thanks for making this new content available.
It's not rebuffering for you through this new channel? I get a rebuffer about every 10-15 seconds.
No problems whatsoever with the 4 or 5 videos I watched. Which ones specifically were you watching? I will watch those and let you know what I get.
Just watched the Birds Rule on Juten Island episode and I did experience one brief re-buffer. Just to make sure I'm not crazy, I asked my wife and she confirmed we did watch a few videos this morning with no issues.
Edit: There might be something specific about Earthtouch.com encodes that make them difficult to run on Roku. However, from what I have seen, Supersecretusername has done something that Mediafly was not able or willing to do. Right after I watched the videos this morning, I went back to Mediafly (thinking maybe something in the Earthtouch.com videos had changed) but it was the same old story...re-buffers every few seconds.
I emailed a rep. at Earthtouch.com a couple of weeks ago, we exchanged a couple of emails and he seemed interested in creating an Earthtouch.com channel. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything since. That really is too bad, they have some of the highest quality videos I have seen. The videos look great on my AppleTV. I wish I had the skills to work on bringing a Roku channel to fruition because it is the type of content, with good production value, that needs to be brought to Roku.
