Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

I have been using HandBrake for some time now. I noticed that a lot of my videos do not have matching audio and video. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix the converted files or must I encode all my movies again? If I have to encode everything again, is there a certain setting I can use on HandBrake to make things sync better? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

Hi BlackMetal,

I saw that there is a program online to aid in syncing up the video. I don't have the link right this moment and never used it. If you don''t find it on google, let me know and I will try to locate it again.

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

I've battled the sync issue many times and I never found an easy way to fix a video with an audio sync problem, but I can't say that I tried very hard. I've had the best results with forcing a 29.97 fps frame rate and no matter what frame rate the original video had. I've also had problems using the x264 encoder over the default ffmpeg4 encoder. The ffmpeg4 encoder is much faster as well.

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

I do believe this new install is slower but it finally fixed a video I have been working on for a week.

I read online about many having sync problems. Mine was sometimes out of sync or the first few seconds would be delayed and jumped and then started on its way.

I came across a link this week that saiid it can be used to help correct sync. I never heard of one either but people were using it.

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

newschannel,

I know if the past I have had to use an offset when using final cut. In handbrake forcing the framerate should resolve the issue as mentioned in the previous post. I should have those templates to you by the end of the week. been moving 😉

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

Hi,

Okay great. Thank you. I was able to get that video encoding but if you can share those templates that would still be a great help. I have more videos to do and your info could be helpful for that as well.

Thank you.

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

The import of the file fails with Handbrake 0.9.6

Re: Handbrake...first few seconds..help requested

Ok I will look those over.

The 0.9.6 has been working for me so far. That video that was so troublesome in the opening is fixed after I installed 0.9.6.
