GridView Images distorted

From what I can tell, both of the following images follow the guidelines for the square aspect ratio of the grid screen. Both are showing distorted on grid screen. I've tried multiple formats and sizes, no go. All of the portrait images work fine. Any ideas?

Re: GridView Images distorted

This is a long standing bug with the grid screen. No idea why it hasn't been fixed yet. The issue is with the display mode you've set. Change it to "scale-to-fill" and you should be good, but you'll need to make sure all of your images are the correct aspect ratio to avoid stretching.

Re: GridView Images distorted

You're right on here. Thanks for the heads up on the bug. I don't think I would have ever found that.

Let me be clear to those who view this in the future. I had to switch the display mode to "scale-to-fit", but I also had to update the images so they were portrait size, but put the icon in the top half of the image. Kinda goofy...

HD
landscape - 192 x 144
portrait - 192 x 274 --- images were in this size. (see image links at top)
square - 192 x 192 ---set style to 'square'

@TheEndless: can you give me an idea of how to reproduce that issue, so I can file a bug on it?

Use any of the newer grid screen types and set the display mode to zoom-to-fill (others cause it too, but I'm too lazy to test it right now).
It's a bug that's been around since 3.1 or earlier. I first noticed it and reported it when the mixed-aspect-ratio grid was introduced.

While you're at it, could you also file a bug for the HTTPS posters issue with grid screens?

Re: GridView Images distorted

In a recent update of firmware 6.2 it looks like this was fixed. My hack is now broken for users in our channel, but the default "scale-to-fit" display mode now works fine. I appreciate the fix from Roku, but would liked some broad communication to developers when altering the way the UI works in the future.
