As the title says will this ever happen? Google assistant can launch other platforms like Hulu sports app, roku channel but not Netflix. I've tried doing so and receive a response that the TV doesn't support this function. It doesn't make sense why it wouldn't. Please add this function as soon as possible.

that is a Netflix app/channel - developer issue , Netflix needs to ad as option to the app/channel they have. In the big majority of the cases Roku "host" the apps/ channels  , the developer who made the app / channel is the one that can ad something to it.
