Deeplinking requirements change?

Hi all, Happy New Year, I have a deeplink question. Has Roku changed the deeplink requirements recently? I remember that if you wanted to deeplink to a series page, mediaType should be series and contentId should be a series id (not an episode id). So, the app will know to open a series page and use the contentId to fetch series data from a server. Now, contentId should always be an episode id. When app opens series page it needs to use smart bookmarks to define which episode to play. We have been implementing our apps the first way. But now one of our older apps (7years old) that we had to update with new features, fails certification because of aforementioned deeplink case. So, has Roku changed requirements or have we been implementing our apps wrongly all this time? Thanks!

  • Did you ever find an answer because I am having the same problem. I was able to fully test the Roku recommends app through the deeplink tester but it works only with RSS when I have a json file for content. Does anyone know if the deeplink cert only tests for RSS or does it test for both RSS and json.

I'm a little frustrated.. anyone know a way to talk with a Roku developer on the phone or zoom? I'll pay.
