Channel Request: TV.COM

I was looking into this this weekend, actually... Unfortunately, the Roku compatible streams don't play well on the Roku. The audio is horribly out of sync...

I actually had a good start on the framework... I might finish it at some point, if the stream quality improves. Another disappointing thing about it was that only the CBS Interactive streams are available in a compatible format (CBS, CNET, Showtime, etc). That leaves a huge chunk of the web content out.

CBS includes StarTrek TOS, right? That's all that matters in the universe!

Re: Channel Request: TV.COM

Quick note, we've worked with CBS interactive on a few projects in the past (Yahoo Connected TV)

They, and many of the other major networks, have a lot of legal issues around getting content on connected TVs. We've actually asked about back catalog like Star Trek and MacGuyver and they're not really in a place where they're ready to try to get that content onto connected devices. They have huge licensing deals they'd need to work through for things like music and the agreements they have with the Actors and Screenwriters guilds.

It may happen but they're going a bit slow.

Re: Channel Request: TV.COM

Is this still doable? Even limited content would be nice.
