Accents & Encoding Issue

Hello, i have a quick question...

Im trying to use the next SRT.

http://www.cuevana.tv/files/sub/1831_ES.srt

however the accents wont display correclty. I understand this could be because its an ascii and not an UTF. but is there any way around this?

regards.

Re: Accents & Encoding Issue

No, the default font on the device doesn't support anything but the basic ascii characters. You could of course create your own SRT decoder and renderer and use the font of your choice on roImageCanvas or roScreen, at least one popular channel has done so, works quite well.

Re: Accents & Encoding Issue

I use Notepad++ to convert the encoding the srt file to UTF-8, it works for my channel.

Hola Marcelo 🙂
I would like to know how to play srt subtitles at USB mode, only pasting them to mkv?

In USB you just need to have the .srt file with the exact same name of the mkv or mp4 file.
