Voice remote light blinks once

I have the voice remote with the reset button on the back under the cover. When I replace my batteries my remote light flashes once then the remote won't work at all. Pressing reset button didn't even trigger the light.

It's not a reset button, it's a pairing button.  If you press and hold it for several seconds the light should start flashing.
