This morning I noticed one of our roku boxes blinking away, so I powered it off and on and got a steady green light from the box unit. I then turned on the TV and tried to use the remote and nothing happened. I assumed it was remote battery issue so I replaced the AA batteries but it still didn't work. I went on the website and followed the troubleshooting steps -- including the re-pairing but the remote still isn't responding to any push button commands including turning tv on or off. Right now we can't use this TV for streaming until we get this resolved. Please advise.
Was the pairing successful? Can you try the mobile app as a remote? It might point the finger at the remote or the device itself.
Roku Mobile App - Free for iOS® or Android™ | Roku
Hi. Today I pulled up the Mobile App and the "remote" on the mobile app worked to get the Roku to show the streaming options, etc to work on this TV. I would like to determine if I just need to replace the remote, or if I \need to replace the roku box--or both. I'm thinking it's the remote if the box is working with the mobile app. Is that the right way to think about this?
One more update.... I thought about it again and decided to try and swap out the batteries of the other working identical remote for a different place roku box in house. I did this the other day, but it didn't work. This time it did work. I didn't even have to do any pairing, etc. So I kept the swapped out batteries in the remote that wasn't previously working. I put new batteries in the remote in other room. Now both are working fine. So odd we had all these problems this time when it was the batteries all along. Previous battery replacements were very simple and took about 10 seconds. Glad I was persistent.
