hi nimfa
thanks for this response
i'm not having any problem
trying to identify devices on my wifi network
so... if i go to 'settings' -> 'network' -> 'about'
it gives me the MAC Address of the roku box
if i go to 'settings' -> 'remotes'.... 'about'
another MAC Address shows up (apparently for the remote)
it doesn't show up on my network
but i wonder.... why does the remote have a MAC Address
tnx
steve
Thanks for the reply.
May we ask what Roku remote you have, a simple or voice remote? To set up your Roku voice remote, it must be connected to your Roku streaming player through a wireless discovery process known as pairing.
Once this simple pairing process is complete and a direct wireless connection is established, you will not need to point your Roku voice remote directly at your Roku streaming device when pressing buttons giving you the flexibility to install it behind a wall-mounted TV or another nearby, out-of-sight location.
We hope this helps. Keep us posted if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Nimfa
@shscpa46, Roku voice remotes use Wi-Fi direct to communicate with Roku devices. Every Wi-Fi device has a MAC address.
