Remote shows all batteries at 0%

Roku is displaying remote battery at 0%.  It does not matter what batteries I use.  New batteries, still show 0%.  The only way I can get it to work for a few seconds is to remove the batteries and replace them.  It appears that the remote is defective

@Rooster2021-

Or maybe the Roku's response to the remote is faulty.

Try giving the Roku a restart.  Depending on your Roku model you'll find the "System restart" option under "Settings > System > Power" or if not there, under "Settings > System".

Thanks @makaiguy,

Unfortunately still have the same problems. I think it may just be a defective remote.
