Finally discovered a fix. Problem only occurs when using TCL-Roku TV, a direct ethernet connection to the internet, and a tp-link mesh router(not used due to direct ethernet on TV). By changing the ROKU-TV from wired connection to wireless, all the problems with using the roku remote went away. ROKU-TCL developers need to work together and fix this. Its 100% repeatable which is the first step to a solution. The users can get around the problem by switching the TCL to use a wireless connection.

Restart your streaming device and reset your Roku remote:
- Unplug your streaming device from the power source. Wait at least 5 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Reset the remote: Press and hold the Back/pairing button and Home button simultaneously for about 20 seconds. This can help to reset the remote and potentially fix the issue.
If the issue persists, please provide the following information to assist further:
- The serial number/device ID of the Roku device paired with your remote.
- The model of your Roku remote.
