Thank you for letting us know that your Onn Roku TV is stuck in recovery mode. We have coordinated this issue to our Roku appropriate team for review.

Kindly provide us with the following details to investigate the issue further.

  • Roku TV model, serial number, device ID, and current software version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID
  • Troubleshooting steps taken

I cannot make a tracker ID from recovery mode.

I have followed the on screen directions to update my tv via WiFi and USB multiple times. It says it is successful, restarts and goes back to Recovery Mode screen. It has been stuck like this since August. I have reached out to chat and they’ve told me there isn’t anything to do, but continue waiting. I haven’t had this tv working for 3 months now.

My tv is constantly looping in the menu... I need to select a langage, right after I need to connect my tv to the Internet and then, it tells me that I need to update my tv. Well, I don't know why, but right after the 'update' my tv restart and I'm stuck on a Roku tv screen for like 2-3 minutes! After, I need to do all the steps I've already been through again! Started to do this few hours ago today!

Please be aware that we are currently investigating and working hard to resolve the issue affecting a subset of customers.

If you have not already, can you please provide us with the following information:

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).

Once we have this information, we will pass it along to the appropriate Roku team for further investigation.
In the meantime, your patience and understanding is much appreciated.

Unfortunately none so far for me. Every couple of days I try all of the same things all over again in hopes that it will work but nothing has yet. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for posting in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you contacting us about your TV being stuck in recovery mode. We understand how important this can be and are here to help you resolve it.

If you already tried other reset methods and your device is still not working, follow the steps below to use Recovery Mode.

  1. Locate the Reset button on the back of your streaming device
  2. Press and hold the reset button for at least 20 seconds
  3. If your device has a reset pinhole, use a straightened paperclip (or similar)
  4. After a moment, your device will restart and display the Recovery Mode screen
  5. Use your remote to select your preferred language and then press OK 
     
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the internet
  7. Once connected, select Update now
  8. Your device will restart after downloading and reinstalling the operating system.

After your device restarts, you may be prompted to complete Guided Setup.

 If you have a Roku TV system made by a company other than Roku and it continues to be unresponsive after using Recovery Mode, contact the TV manufacturer for help.
