- Roku TV model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
- Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue arise, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
- May we know what the make and model of your smart soundbar are?
- What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
Once we have this information, we can forward it to the appropriate Roku team for further investigation.

The soundbar is a Samsung HW-FM45C. The same thing happens when I power up my Blu-ray player, a Sony BX110.
Troubleshooting: Among a wild assortment of random changes, I followed the prompt and customized the device name and icon, which made no difference. More drastically, I (1) removed the sound bar and associated subwoofer - literally took them to a different room (2) deleted the sound bar from the Roku configuration (3) Reinstalled with a new HDMI cable and powered everything up (4) Responded to the new-device prompt by setting name and icon (5) Powered everything off and back on. After all that the new-device prompt showed up again.
Remember, this also applies to the Blu-ray player, which has also been installed the entire time I have owned this set - and a previous TCL Roku TV. Power up the Blu-ray, get the new device message even though that device has been in the TV config forever.

I couldn't figure out how to get for the tacker display, but here's the information from my TV that I could grab:
TCL Model 50S535
Hardware ID A118X
Software version: 14.1.4 build 7709-88
I've got a PlayStation 5 and an XBox Series S hooked to HDMI 2 and 3 respectively. Both exhibit the issue when powered on from being fully off.
HDMI 4 has a Yamaha A/V receiver using ARC. It normally goes into standby when powered 'off', but if I fully power it off by unplugging it, it also exhibits the same behavior.
This arrangement of devices has been working for years without this issue until about a week ago.
I've tried power cycling devices, unplugging cables, swapping cables, fully removing devices and re-adding them. Nothing has helped.

My ONN Roku tv started giving me this message yesterday as well. "We noticed you connected a new device to HDMI 3. What do you want to name it?"
I don't even have a device on HDMI 3. I've tried naming it, but no change. Keeps randomly popping up and pops up each time tv is powered on. Could it be caused by recent update? Software version 14.1.4 build 7709

Me too. Problem began yesterday - HiSense soundbar on eARC / HDMI-1. Every time I turn on our Roku TV it claims my soundbar is a new device. This exact, unchanged configuration worked fine for the last two months without this problem.

Same problem but this happens for any HDMI input device. Switch, PS5, Xbox One. It started happening within the last few days.
