Re: Unable to Unfollow Shows

Jump to solution

I had forgotten that some things can be selected.  "What to Watch" is enabled on one of my Roku's but not the other.  The Roku support person also didn't remember that "What to Watch" can be selected or not.

Personally, I find "What to Watch" to be worse than useless.  There is so much listed, in so many nonsensical headings, that it's more trouble to go through than just looking at the listings on the channels you normally watch.

One problem that was covered in my conversation is that switching to the new feature was not supposed to remove anything, so they still have to look at that.

I have now looked at the new "Save List".  It contains literally hundreds of programs that Roku has "Pre-Selected" for me, including programs in languages I don't understand.  And one can only hope that programs that you did select in the past will be found in the future.  We will have to wait and see what happens.  One can only hope that you will be notified if something does show up that matches, so you don't have to do a lengthy search through "What to Watch" every day.

To clarify:

"What to Watch" contains hundreds of programs.

"Save List" only contained two or three in languages I don't speak, and I was able to remove them. They looked like they may have been matches for a movie I did want, if they had been in English. I don't know if removing them also caused the desired match to be removed: it doesn't tell you watch was matched to find the movie or program in the first place (neither did "My Feed").

I was able to delete one spurious program that was carried over from "My Feed".  So that does fix the original issue.  We will just have to wait and see if it finds matches the way it's supposed to in the future, and if there are any notifications when a new match occurs.  But this is the first real progress I've seen in more than seven months of working with Roku on this problem, and it just might possibly have finally been fixed.

Between these two postings I received another call from Roku support: he was going to ask me to make "What to Watch" visible again, but I told him I already had.  He also said that he would take back my opinion that "Save List" should appear on the main menu and not buried in the depths of "What to Watch".
