I have no problem watching ads for free programming, I completely support it. My problem is that the ads tend to fall in the middle of dialogue in many situations rather than the natural pauses that are literally built-in for ads. It is very frustrating because they will be talking and boom ad, and so you miss whatever they were going to say because of the ad. Hopefully, it wasn't an important point (if it is a mystery show/movie there is a good chance it could be). Please, please, please put the ads in the places that they actually go instead of in the middle of dialogue!!!
These days, ads are often inserted at fixed times by a computer. Not all programming has the info needed to know where the original ad breaks were.
And for the most part, those live ad-supported streams are supplied to Roku by outside sources. Roku receives a share of ad revenues but has no control over ad placement.
I agree, sometimes the ads are placed at a very bad time. Sometimes moving the ad a minute or two forward or backward in time would work better.
