Still watching countdown?

Was watching RedZone on NFL+ (as I have since the season started), and about 4-5 hours into the show, I see a popup with a timer counting down, asking if I'm still watching. Never saw this before for RedZone, especially given that the show runs from 1pm to about 7pm. Is there a way to turn this popup off?

Re: Still watching countdown?

I don't have RedZone so I don't know if there is an option to avoid this prompt.

How hard is it to just confirm you're still watching?  It should only be needed once in a 6 hour show.

This exists to that it won't continue to stream unwatched data.  This might not be a big deal for you, but for those whose internet providers have data caps, it can be.

Re: Still watching countdown?

Thanks for your response. The popup was a Roku popup, overlaid on the action of RedZone. The thing is, occasionally I'm in the kitchen listening to the games, and I could have easily missed it, so was wondering if there's some way to turn off the inquiry. I'm just puzzled as to why it hasn't appeared the prior 5 weeks while watching RedZone.

Re: Still watching countdown?

If it's the Roku pop up, yes this can be disabled.

The Roku "Bandwidth saver" function kicks in when the Roku has received no user input in four hours. It asks if you are still watching, and if it receives no response, it exits the current stream and returns the Roku to its home page. At that point, further inactivity will trigger the screensaver if you have one enabled.

You can turn this feature on and off via Settings > Network > Bandwidth saver

Note that some individual channels may have a similar feature.
