Roku screensaver stopped working

Jump to solution

I'm having the same problem. I did a system restart. I unplugged the TV and plugged it in. I went to the online website. Connected Google photo album. Did a system restart. It still crashes immediately.

Hi @Dbwhite,

Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!

We understand you are having trouble with Backdrops not showing a linked Google Photo, and we appreciate the steps you took to resolve the issue,

We want to gather additional details to investigate this issue more thoroughly. Can you please provide the following information below?

  • Do you see "My photos" when scrolling to the bottom of the Backdrops app? If you can see the photo or album you chose to upload via Google Photos, it should be there.
  • If you can't see it, please send us a photo under "My Albums"?

In the meantime, you may try these steps below:

  1. Go to the Backdrops App > Connect Google Photos

  2. Select Upload photos

  3. Scan the QR code from your mobile device and follow the onscreen instructions.

  4. Use your Roku.com account to sign into backdrops.roku.com

You may also want to check out this support article on using backdrops on your Roku streaming devices.

If the problem persists, can you please provide the following details below?

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and current software version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)

We look forward to your response.

All the best,
Chel
