Roku app won't connect to my TV on university Wi-Fi.

Before coming to university I already had my Roku app and TV connected. After coming to university and connecting to the free Wi-Fi I have tried again to no avail. I'm unsure of what the issue is.
I've tried connecting it manually with the IP address but it just leaves my app buffering.
I don't know what to do as i would like to use the headphone function to enjoy movies without making too much noise

Re: Roku app won't connect to my TV on university Wi-Fi.

It's likely that your university has blocked Wi-Fi connected devices from communicating with each other - if you could connect to your Roku device, so could everyone else.  One option might be to get a Roku Voice Remote Pro (not the 2nd edition) with a headphone jack.  Some Roku devices also support Bluetooth headphones.
