Roku Backdrops app problem

When using the new Backdrops app and I use one of my own photos taken from my phone I get a black bar on both sides of the photo when I upload into Backdrops. Basically they aren’t full screen.

however, when I use one of the default photos in the Roku Backdrop library the images are full screen.

What gives? Why can’t you change this? Note this black bar problem is also in the Roku screensaver when you use your own photos.

Re: Roku Backdrops app problem

You need to edit your photo to stretch it or crop it to the desired dimensions.  I don't think Backdrops has a setting to do this and I would be upset if it distorted my photos automatically.

Re: Roku Backdrops app problem

It doesn’t have a setting. That’s the point.
