Request: Centralized Parental Control Management for Roku Accounts
Hello Roku Community,
I'm writing to request a significant improvement to Roku's parental control system: centralized, account-level management.
Currently, Roku offers parental controls on individual devices, which becomes very cumbersome when managing multiple Roku devices in a household. Setting up and maintaining consistent restrictions across all devices is time-consuming and inefficient.
I propose implementing a system where parental control settings can be managed directly through the Roku account. This could include:
- A Parental Control Dashboard: Accessible within the Roku account settings, this dashboard would allow parents to view and adjust all parental control settings for every device linked to the account.
- Account-Level Settings: Changes made in the account dashboard would automatically apply to all linked devices, ensuring consistency.
- Optional Device-Specific Overrides: While account-level settings would be the primary control, parents could still have the option to make specific adjustments on individual devices if needed.
Why is this important?
- It would simplify parental control management for families with multiple Roku devices.
- It would ensure consistent protection across all devices.
- It would make Roku a more family-friendly platform.
Has anyone else experienced similar challenges with managing parental controls on multiple Roku devices? Do you have any other suggestions for improving the system?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
