My wife has a TCL TV (Google) with Bluetooth and a Roku Ultra with a Roku Voice Remote Pro Gen 2. She has the DirecTV app downloaded on the Ultra and watches a lot of live TV along with other streaming apps.

I ordered her some Shokz OpenFit Bluetooth headphones for late night TV watching. Because of latency is it preferable to pair the headphones to the TV, or to the Voice Remote Gen 2?

We understand that you want to use the headphones mode on your Roku TV for private listening. We're here to assist and provide the help you need.

We suggest connecting your Roku to your mobile device via the Roku Mobile App. Then, when you're already connected to the Roku TV, pair your Bluetooth headphones to your mobile device.

Here's how to activate Headphone mode in the Roku App...

Open the Roku mobile app
Tap Remote from the navigation bar
Tap the Headphone icon to activate Headphone Mode

Once Headphone Mode is activated, adjust the volume to a comfortable level and put on your headphones. When you want to deactivate Headphone Mode, simply tap the Headphone icon again. If you have wired headphones, you can also activate and deactivate Headphone Mode by plugging in and unplugging your headphones when the Roku mobile app is already open.
