Outdated Roku model - now what do I do?

I've been advised that my Roku model will no longer be supported. I'm getting messages that my Roku model can't access Prime. Sounds like I need to get a new model. OK, but what do I do with the old - toss it in the recycling bin or...?

Before recycling, I would unlink it from my roku account and then factory reset it.  (Probably either is sufficient but I like to be sure.)

Agree with @Strega , but also log into your Roku user account (https://my.roku.com) and delete the device from your user account (wait, I think Strega said that). Depending on what model player you have, it might still have use for someone else, depending on their use case. But you want to ensure all your personal information has been removed from the device.
