Identifying a roku device

Jump to solution

I have 5 roku devices connected to my system but I am having a difficult time identifying each one as I did not label each roku device properly.  Where do I look on a streamer device or stick device to get the proper number of that device to correctly identify it properly.  Please help.  Thank you.

Look under Settings->System->About on each device and you should find all of the identifying information you need.  Every device also has a serial number or Device ID printed on the device, but there's no way to know which one you'll get since what's labeled as "SN" or "serial number" on a device may be a Device ID.  You can also see the serial number of every device that's linked to your Roku account by logging into your account at https://my.roku.com using the email address that's displayed under the same Settings->System->About screen.  While you're there, you can edit the "Friendly name" of each device.

This is pathetic. I am trying to figure out which Rokus are which. I see the SN on the label but it's not the one on the Roku website?  Can we get it added ... no wait.. its already there in the configuration database.. Can we just see it?

@Johnwesterdale, Roku devices have a serial number and a device ID.  Some devices have the serial number written on them and some have the device ID.  Why?  Because... Roku.  As far as I can tell, the Serial numbers and device IDs always end with the same several characters, so you should be able to figure out which device is which when you look in your account at https://my.roku.com if you have either number.  While you're there, you may want to give each device its own "friendly" name.
