We recently replaced our 15+ year old Roku device and replaced it with the Roku - Ultra 2024 | 4K/HDR10+/Dolby Vision & Atmos Streaming Device. We use YouTubeTV for our "regular" TV. With the new remote, whenever we move away from YouTubeTv, to go to Netflix, or whatever and then come back at any time it is paused on the last channel we watched. I HATE THIS. I don't want to click home, choose App, see the paused show, and click more buttons to find the new show I want to watch. Is there a way to set it to just skip the pause and go straight to the Guide?

That would be a YouTube TV setting. You may need to dig through them to see if there is something that may apply.

Possible this is related to the "Instant Resume" feature that is supported by the Ultra 4850 and implmented by YoutubeTV on this device. There are a few related threads in the forum discussing this.
Try pressing the Back button to exit YoutubeTV rather than the Home button to close YoutubeTV. (by backing out of YouTubeTV, this will interrupt the call for Instant Resume.
If implemented correctly, the Live content is supposed to start playing 1 second after loading when using Instant Resume so not sure why yours is paused, unless still a work in progress by Youtube TV.

Re: How to stop the automatic resume of the last channel I watched when going back into the app.
AvsGunnar is most likely correct, I've been trying to figure out how to disable this on my device also. It is in fact a Roku feature that apps like YouTube can take advantage of. However, when you have a family with multiple people using the Roku it is a very frustrating feature to say the least. I am very disappointed that Roku would implement something like this without giving the ability to disable it. I have been through every single setting in Roku and have not found the option. Nor is it currently an option in the Roku YouTube app. We have recently been thinking of pulling away from Roku, this would be one of the shoves in that direction.
