We set up our Roku and added it to our Google Home so that we could use voice commands from our Google Assistant. However, whenever we try to get something to actually play on the Roku - for example "OK Google, play [SHOW] from Hulu on Living Room Roku" - Google acknowledges the command, we see the Roku say it's "thinking" and then a search result window comes up with results for the show we named. The show itself doesn't start, the Hulu app doesn't start, nothing.
If we use the same voice command directly into the Roku remote, it works. But the whole point is we want hands-free voice commands, not to be tied to a remote. Does this happen to anyone else? Does this feature just not work?
If no one has an answer to the Google assistant question, the Roku Voice Remote Pros have hands-free voice control. It may not be as good, but it's an option.
