I have various versions of Roku devices in my home. All will not allow me to add any new channels/apps. Only one community post is listed but the explanation does not seem creditable (Something about "Amazon Web Service failure"). Maybe that person was talking or thinking about a Amazon Firestick. I have this Roku device issue. Can anyone offer a better explanation?
Besides running a store and a streaming service, Amazon has AWS which is a big cloud service/server farm that many companies use. So AWS going down can take out of lot of non-Amazon stuff.

As @Strega said, Amazon Web Services run a lot of things. My answer was correct.
