2 months back, there was a firmware update that was pushed to the 2 Hisense Roku TV model 55R6095G5,
both device got bricked right after the update, constantly flashing "Hisense Roku TV" when turned on, can't get past this step to menu.
I already tried the reset buttons, power cycles etc, nothing can fix them.
I contacted Hisense for getting firmware file to potentially flash them to the motherboard, but Hisense refused to help (saying these are Roku TV serviced by Roku, they only provide the hardware, a serial number search on Hisense website literally shows that my serial number doesn't exist ! both of them!),
So I searched for Roku firmware file from https://tvupdate.roku.com/index?p=select,
but in order to get the Roku firmware file, I need "Roku TV Hardware ID" and "Serial Number",
both of these are under "Settings > System > About", which I can't access because I can't get the device to pass flashing "Hisense Roku TV" screen.
Is there any other way for me to get the firmware file? I can't find a contact number to reach Roku customer support.
I don't think getting the firmware file will do you any good. The TV has to be somewhat functional to flash it. You might be better off searching for a replacement main board or power board.
I purchased the TV one year ago I almost never use it and all of a sudden the TV stopped working and the red light flash twice my guarantee on the TV is expired I bought it in a pawn shop brand new (GROUPBANCO.com) I thought it was a brand new TV but I discovered after it was a refurbish unit... I'm stuck with the TV that doesn't work. I have nothing else to do except trying to flash the TV with the firmware, but every time I put my serial number or the ID of the TV it says that I have the wrong number I don't... it's on the TV and it's on the box I need help to have the firmware otherwise it's going to go to the garbage so I want to have a last try before I do this thank you very much for your support and help.
@Gattogrosso, if the TV won't even turn on, you won't be able to flash the firmware.
So you are telling me that I got ripped off! It cost me $500 CAD for about 1 year of use.... Hisense Roku TV is just GARBAGE I bought a used Toshiba TV a Fire TV in a Pawn Shop 4 years ago. I paided, I think at the time it was $200, it is still functional it is very good it has never let me down it is a smart TV with everything and all the services of Fire TV. They have new models since, I should have bought one but I choose a Hisense Roku TV 4k series R6 and this time I paid $500 it lasted me just 13 months and suddenly it stopped working it is downright organized with the producer of the Hisense-Roku comedy.
Obviously, it's already programmed in advance that the device will stop. It's really a scam, and I have a strong feeling that I'm not the only one out there with this problem. They're hundreds... you even created a forums for victims, seriously! 🤣 I will close my account with Roku because, anyway, what is the point of having an account, I will never go back to buy a product with your company name or sponsors.
You manufacture equipment that will become obsolete in a programmed way it is almost criminal. I'm sure it is, unfortunately. I do not have the resources to make an investigation to prove that I am right. But you already know that you're scammers who's manufacture products that deteriorate on a programmed schedule. I'm doing website development, and I'm always online. I'll make sure that ROKU - HISENSE are highlighted in the SCAMMERS PACKAGES. It's nothing I can do I just hope that I will at least inform as many people as I can it make me be a very small difference but over time people will get sick of your stuff of your scam. I will do my best to inform the public. For free, I will not charge you anything for this publicity. Thanks again for your services. I also appreciate your honest answer to trash the fck device.
guess I am really unlucky then, went thru 2 second hand boards and 1 new board, and still the same result. Guess I should check if it is the power cable that is causing problem then.
