It appears, at least in my experience, that the front to back balance has been fixed.

NOW I'm going to be waiting for the left to right balance to be implemented.

I don't sit in the middle of the speakers. My left channels are 6-7ft to the side of me, and the right is directly in front and just behind my head.

I guess ultimately it would be nice to be able to adjust the volume of each speaker individually.

I second your request. I've had surround sound since the 1970s but this is the first setup I've had that has no balance control. I also cannot sit in the middle due to the layout of my room and, as a programmer myself,  this basic function should be easy to implement. I eagerly await the update that fixes this fundamental issue.
