Trouble pairing Roku Soundbar Alto R1 to Roku 50" TV. Everything fails.

I have now purchased two of these. The TV cannot find the Soundbar. What am I doing wrong? It is Wireless and is designed to work with Roku TV. Lou

If the Roku tv is too old to have updated software, it may never work.
