Hi Roku. I was literally about to buy a second streambar pro for another room but decided against since I now have the dreaded static issue too, except it’s late 2024 and I’m reading years of complaints about this issue. I thought I was doing something wrong, but alas it seems like a known issue. For others tracking this:
Model 9101R2
serial YL00DK832551
software version 14.0.4 Build 12221
channels - all, but 100% noticeable on Netflix startup sound and YouTube TV startup sound.
Internet speed - 550mbps down 394mbps up, AT&T fiber
what I’ve done - reset, restarted, check cable connection etc. No change.
So disappointed.

I am on my second streambar in a year with the same issue. Static and popping sounds to the point it can't be used. Really feel like this was a waste of money at this point. Seeing years of posts doesn't make me feel any better. Any chance this can be swapped out for a Roku Ultra instead? Thanks

I purchased the Roku sound bar and all the speakers and mine is making that static noise also. We will be watching something and all of a sudden the words are static. I stop it and it’s through out every app on the Roku sound bar. I have to restart the whole Roku sound bar and then it works good for a day or two and then static again. It’s **bleep** because all the money we put into buying all the speakers and stands for speakers and can’t even watch a whole movie without restarting the bar.

Could you tell us about?
- When did you start noticing this issue?
- What other troubleshooting you have done aside from rebooting the devices?
- Have there been any updates before this happened? If so, can you please provide the latest software version of your Roku? (It can be found in Settings > System > About).
- If possible, providing a video of it can be super helpful.

I’ve had mine for four years, and the static issues started about a year and a half ago. Unbelievably annoying. No sense in buying another one since it seems like it is not been fixed. I regularly have to unplug the device and then plug it back in just to watch and listen with normal sound

I get that the static sound on your Roku is quite annoying. There are a few reasons this could be happening, but there are some easy steps we can take to try to fix it. If you could answer the questions posted above by @RokuEmmanuel-D, that would really help! In the meantime, can you try this:
- Go to the Home screen.
- Settings.
- System.
- Software Update.
- Press Check Now.
Once you’ve updated, just do a quick System Restart to reboot your device. Check out this link for instructions. Let me know how it goes!
