Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I tried that too and it did not work. I attempted various resets with unplugging for extended period of time. Even the hard reset with a reset button in the back panel did not do the trick. The audio and all other controls seem to work fine. I can get Netflix to stream and cable up turn on. It’s just hard to pick content when menus are not visible. When turned on the screen goes from black to dimly lit navy blue but there is nothing identifiable even when getting close to it.
Hi @Canuck2
Have you tried contacting your TV manufacturer? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. They'll be the best ones to help regarding your issue. Send us the TV brand name if you need their contact info!
Warm regards,
Lianna
It is Hisense. The problem started two months after warranty expired so I don’t think the manufacturer will be of much help. Any of the troubleshooting info I found online takes me to the end point of hardware problem. The timing of this problem does raise a question whether planned obsolescence plays a role here.

Thank you. I will try that though I don’t get my hopes up. It’s past warranty so a hardware problem means a repair that could cost as much as a new unit.
I am definitely staying away from this brand. My Sony tv from 2007 is still running despite missing a row of pixels at the bottom.
