Thanks for this tip. Unplugging my TCL Roku TV and waiting like 30 seconds, then plugging back in restored my sound. 

Hope this doesn't keep reoccuring but thankfully my sound is back.

I'll bet it is the same problem with my mom's Onn.

While playing any show press the STAR button, go down to Volume Mode and select Leveling. If it is already on Leveling scroll thru the Volume Mode selections until you hit Leveling again.

She has to do this everytime she changes the channel and sometimes when she changes the volume.

okay so basically this jus happened to me lol . i jus unplugged it then plugged it back in now it’s fine . hope this will help .

Found my onn tv was having sound leveling issues would stop sound had to switch sound mode off and back on for every show. Very annoying sound will no longer play with sound mode off and now always have to turn off and back on to function could also be a internet connectivity issue have found a better resolve yet.

Power reset seemed to help with returning function of volume. Unplug for 2 minutes and retry.

I’ve had noise leveling ON since I purchased mine a month ago. However, today—no sound on anything. Turned off leveling and it’s back. I wonder why it’s worked for a month and now won’t. Hmm.
