No sound from roku streambar except from roku app over hdmi arc on samsung du7200D smart tv

There is no optical port on this tv so that is not an option.

We appreciate your post and understand your concern regarding the sound issue with your Roku Streambar. We're here to assist you with this.

We highly recommend the following suggestions to assist you with this.

  • Check the audio connections: Ensure that the audio cables are securely connected to the streambar and the audio source. Try unplugging and reconnecting the cables to ensure a proper connection.
  • Adjust audio settings.
  • Securely attach the power adaptor
    • Remove and reattach the power adaptor making sure it is securely and firmly connected to the streaming player and the wall power outlet.
  • Try a different power outlet
    • Try connecting the power adaptor to a different power outlet.
    • Alternatively, you can try testing another electronic device you know works in the same power outlet.
    • If your streaming player is connected to a power strip, unplug it and connect the power adaptor directly to a wall power outlet.
  • Check the light
  • Different TV
    • You can also test out different TVs to see if it makes a difference. 
  • Update the software (Go to Settings > System > Software Update).

We would recommend trying to see if that resolves your issue. Please keep us posted.

There are no issues with the power or the HDME/eArc cable, it works just fine when using it to view the Roku app, it just won't function as an external speaker for the TV or other apps.
