Newsmax app will open & won't stay loaded

Jump to solution

I've been trying to get problem solved since early this a.m. It appears that the Newsmax app itself via ROKU TV will not load &/or stay up & running. I'm able to watch via ROKU CHANNEL live & via laptop browser with no problems. I've uninstalled app & reinstalled app on ROKU TV but with the same results. I submitted info to Newsmax via their online support link & provided feedback also via Newsmax app. I'm at a loss as to what's causing the problem via the app on it's own since it's not happened before. Any help to resolve would be appreciated.

We appreciate you for joining us here at the Roku Community, @Tantivy!

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. No worries; we'd be more than willing to further help you with your playback issue in the best way we can.

Would you mind telling us which app/channel you are having playback issues with? We want to take a closer look. Additionally, mentioning you've tried to remove the app and then re-installing it, have you tried to perform a system reboot in between? (remove the app > system reboot > re-install the app) We want to make sure that this procedure has been done precisely to work.

We hope to hear back from you soon!

Kind regards,
Carly

thanks for your response - not sure what's transpired but Newsmax appears to have resolved the problem re: the app. Try turning your tv off, count to 60 & then turn back on. Try the app again, hopefully it remains on for you. Only thing I can suggest if not, try unintalling/reinstalling app via ROKU.com

Good luck

@dlhoyman When uninstalling/reinstalling an app add another step:  so uninstall/restart Roku/reinstall app

I have this issue with a different app. Tried the usual tired directive of uninstalling/reinstalling the app to no avail. I miss the old days when all you had to do was kick something to get it to work again.

To Carly Y.

It was the Newsmax app that there was a problem with. Per Newsmax cust. svc. that day they were aware of streaming problems taking place & it took a few hrs. but the problem was resolved from their end.

Paid for Newsmax+ subscription on Newsmax website. When app is loaded on Roku, I am required to go through another purchasing process through Roku - paying twice?

that happened to me too, just hit back arrow to get to home & start over. Took me to login & no further notice re: pymt. I think it took time for the app to actually load, I know I signed up online via website & then downloaded the app from ROKU store from Home screen on tv. Hope that helps & you didn't subscribe 2x's
