Intermittent loss of sound on YouTube, Amazon, and maybe others.

Here is a previous discussion. My situation is similar and started showing up several months ago. The TV is about 3 years old. I thought it was just happening on YouTube but I caught it happening on Amazon prime also.

Re: Philips Roku TV Sound Issue

Hi @LinnyX
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We understand that you are having an issue with your Philips Roku TV. We're sorry about the experience, this is not what we aim for.
We'd like to gather more information about the issue you're running into. Can you please give us more details so we can further assist you:

Roku device model - 32PFL6452/F7D

 serial number - X00900U09EK4

 device ID - S0GL70009EK4

Software OS/version - 13.1.4. build 1510-63

  • (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
  • Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing

Can you help me?  I have tried the standard things of unplugging the TV, resetting the application.

Hi @douthatm,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

Thanks for letting us know about your audio issues with YouTube and Amazon Prime Video channels on Roku and for the steps you took to resolve the issue.

In some cases, removing and reinstalling the affected channel may help. Please remember that after removing a channel, the best practice is to clear the Roku's memory by restarting it before reinstalling it. Without the restart, you may not get a clean reinstall.

To ensure the process is successful, follow the steps below:

  1. Remove the channel. Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
    • Note: If you remove a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must cancel the subscription before seeing the Remove Channel option. Read the detailed article about removing a channel to help identify this type of subscription channel.
  2. Restart your Roku device. Navigate to Settings > System > Power (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step). System restart.
  3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.
    • Note: If you add a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must resubscribe.

Refer to the Support article here for additional troubleshooting steps: How to resolve a channel playback issue | Official Roku Support

If the issue persists after attempting the suggestions on the link, videos from other channels play fine. Contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. The channel developers themselves maintain channels on Roku.

In this case, an issue within that specific channel likely needs to be addressed with an update from the channel developer.

Please keep us posted, and we'll continue assisting you from there.

All the best,
Chel
