I understand your concern. I had the same concern when I purchased my 75" Roku Element TV. Having to set up an account and enter payment information to use the device was concerning but then after the breach I was promted to change my passwords to other previously purchased streaming apps like Hulu, Disney+, STARZ etc... in order to use it through Roku.
I now more recently cannot even use the TV at all because there's an issue with the screen remains blackedout while powered on. I have been trying to find resouce through Roku to troubleshoot the issue.
I cannot help but to feel that I should have returned my Roku.
