We have a big old CRT TV in our basement. It has the classic 4x3 aspect ratio, standard coaxial cable inputs, plus alternative LEFT/RIGHT/VIDEO inputs.
I was wondering if it would be possible to hook up a Roku Smart Soundbar to this old TV via an hdmi-to-VGA adapter. Would I get any picture at all? Would the sound come through the Soundbar? Has anyone tried anything like this before?
Thanks.
Hi @AnchorBond,
Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!
We'd like to take a closer look into this inquiry that you have. May we know which Roku soundbar you are referring to? Are you referring to a Roku TV wireless soundbar, or are you referring to a Roku streambar?
You may also check out this support article here on how to set up your Roku Streambar SE or Roku Streambar with a non-Roku TV system.
We'll wait for your response, and hopefully this helps.
All the best,
John
