Getting My Roku TV to Stream through Voice

Jump to solution

Hello,

I leave the Youtube app playing on my Roku TV for my kitty. It keeps her entertained. The problem is, the YouTube app turns off after a few hours and I want to be able to turn it back on through the Roku App. Is their a way to do this, even if I'm not connected to my home wifi?

A warm welcome here in the Roku Community, @Keisha2!

I appreciate you reaching out for support. I'd be happy to provide further information about utilizing the Roku mobile app.

Please be informed that you can't use the Roku mobile app if you are not connected to the same network as your Roku TV. To continue streaming without interruptions, I suggest disabling the bandwidth saver.

Nevertheless, I can't guarantee that disabling the bandwidth saver will let you continuously stream via the YouTube channel as they run their app on the Roku streaming platform, which includes features like 'Are you still watching?' or when there is no interaction inside the app.

I suggest contacting YouTube support for further clarification.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Best regards,
Carly
