Audio Delay with Wireless Roku Soundbar and Screen Mirroring
When screen mirroring from a Macbook Air(via HDMI) to a 65" TCL Roku TV with a Roku TV Wireless Soundbar there is a very small yet noticiable audio delay. It must have something to do with keeping everything synchronized between two displays while broadcasting the audio wirelessly to the soundbar. Roku forums said that using 5ghz wifi should fix issues with audio delay, but we use 5ghz wifi and the access point is located very near our setup. Using "game mode" improves things immensely, and I tinkered with other settings and the delay remains, only very slightly.
If I upgrade, I'll be looking for a 3rd party HDMI ARC sound bar. Ideally, I only want one remote for simplicity.
I'm wondering if anyone else uses screen mirroring and the wireless soundbar and has solved this very slight audio delay. A Roku soundbar and Roku TV should work flawlessly together, but this niche use case seems to be a major flaw in the wireless soundbar.

Re: Audio Delay with Wireless Roku Soundbar and Screen Mirroring
Thanks for bringing this to us! @nick28
There are several reasons why we may experience delays when using Screen Mirroring on your Roku Soundbar. To help me investigate this further, could you please provide more details?
- When was the first time you noticed this issue?
- What have you done so far to fix this problem?
- Is this issue occurring on all Roku channels or just specific ones?
- Have you seen any updates lately before this issue occured? If you have, could you share the current OS version of your Roku?
In the meantime, can you try this: Home > Settings > System > Power > System Restart. Let me know how it goes.
Let’s team up to sort this out!
