There's a bunch of us in the Hulu community (not so much on Reddit Hulu because the mods over there are very touchy about anything related to "technical support" and keep deleting posts).
So far, the only common thing I can find (for the bunch of us with the issue are):
Roku devices (I've only tested/confirmed on my two Roku TCL 43" TVs). It does NOT happen with Firestick
Only with Hulu with LiveTV (happens mostly on "discovery" owned networks, but not always). Always happens when it goes to ad/commercial. Audio gets out of sync (lags behind video by 10+ seconds).
Wired/Wi-Fi no difference
The only "fix" is to change Live Channels from within Hulu app and then it's fine until the next ad/commercial.
Since many of us have the Roku TV I can rule out HDMI/soundbar issues (none of that on my two devices).
I'm fairly certain this would be a Hulu app issue, but it's also specific only to Roku devices (some folks have duped it on the standalone Roku devices vs. the Roku TV). https://kodi.software/ https://dltutuapp.com/tutuapp-download/
Has anyone else notice/experience this?
I tried opening a case with Hulu, but you know how well that went/goes (scripted steps, asking if you've done this, that, what's your internet connection, etc.)
I believe this started about 2 months ago or so for me anyway (of course, just having switched from FIOS TV to Hulu+LiveTV)
I had the same issue with Hulu and my Roku Smart Soundbar. I disconnected it, and tried using the Roku Streaming Stick 4k. Same audio synch issue.
This did not happen when I used Fubo, but had to quit Fubo b/c I live in an area that charges $13,99 for special regional sports access (MSG, Etc). That is also a different issue.
Tried all suggestions: rebooting router, unloading & re-loading Hulu, restarting Roku, and nothing has worked. Then, I disconnected Roku, and used the system on my HiSense Android....problems with space, and constantly had to offload Apps not used, clear cache, etc.
Now I'm back to the Roku stick and will explore others, like You Tube or Sling, however, I'm certain the sports packages on those, will not be the same as Fubo (regular, not regional sports). We need NFL and college football.
I, too, would be delighted to hear a resolution. I also assume that Hulu doesn't care, or else they would find a solution, and make it known in the FAQs.
