Able to bypass Guest Mode with remote
We have 2 Roku TV's at our rental property and if guests know this workaround they have access to our Plex account and see my Spotify login name and pic. There may be other Roku apps that have this issue, but these are the two we use and found issue with it. We prefer to stay anonymous to the people that rent our place, and certainly don't want them in our Plex account! Obviously we're logging out of Plex and Spotify each time we leave our rental, but wondering if there's a fix. I stumbled onto it by accident.
- Set TV to Guest Mode.
- Once it reboots, hit the Guide button and you'll see live TV (do not enter any checkout date in guest mode...hit the Guide button 1st)
- Hit the back arrow (next to the home button) 2 times
- That brings you to the App & Input page. The Plex and Spotify apps are two that we have on our non-guest mode setting, but they also show up in Guest Mode using the workaround. Plex is logged in with my info, and Spotify has my pic and name (but doesn't go into the account).
When using Guest Mode properly, by entering the checkout date, those two apps don't appear and even downloading them in Guest Mode, it doesn't keep Plex logged in or show my Spotify info. Only the default apps appear.
Any ideas?
