Are you talking about a Roku TV or a Roku connected to a TV? And when you say “now” do you mean some recent update/change? (If it's a player connected to a TV, remember, you still have the TV features for watching OTA. Some people connect a Roku and forget that they can switch back to the antenna input of the TV as needed.)
As for numbers on a remote, Rokus weren’t designed around linear TV. Even on Roku TVs, I think Roku really wants you streaming, not watching OTA stuff (where they don’t have content/advertising deals. 😀)
However, some of the streaming services available on Roku emulate linear TV with channel numbers and schedules and all that, so perhaps a remote with numbers could happen someday. For now, if you want to use that kind of service on a Roku, I’d look for one with a (virtual) DVR and use that feature as much as possible.
If you have a model with a voice remote, try using voice commands to find channels.
Banned but back. Because why not?
