Youtube TV and Youtube app crashing roku

Everything was working fine yesterday. Today when opening the Youtube TV app, or Youtube app, 2-3 seconds after clicking on it, the name of the channel shows on a black screen and then roku crashes and restarts. I tried Netflix, no issue. I haven't tried any other app.

Constant buffering on Roku TV but NOT ON IPHONE

We have a 55S535 and are up to date on the software 13.1.4 We have rebooted our modem, deleted the Youtube TV app and still have freezing/buffering issues. I've seen replies by ROKU to contact the app provider (Youtube TV in this case) but the issues we're having only happen on the TV, we've never had these issues on our iPhones using the Youtube TV app. Doesn't make sense to contact Youtube if it's only happening on the TV, right? Any real solution to this? Thank you.

Beyond frustrating!! There's no way this is a YouTube TV app issue. Hopefully Roku comes through with an actual fix.

Re: Youtube TV and Youtube app crashing roku

@RD84-

Have you tried removing and re-installing the channel?

After removing the channel, but BEFORE reinstalling it, RESTART** your Roku to clear its memory cache. Without the restart you may not get a clean reinstall. This is not a cure-all but at least it will assure you of having an uncorrupted copy of the current channel app.

Depending on your Roku model number you'll find the "System restart" option under either "Settings > System > Power" or under "Settings > System". If you don't have sufficient control to use the menus, or if it is just more convenient, you can also restart by pulling the power plug for a short while, then plugging it back in.

**On a Roku TV with "Fast TV Start" enabled, turning the TV off/on only puts you in/out of a low power standby state, it does NOT give you a complete restart. Use the methods above.
