Installed apps are not showing up on the home screen

Jump to solution

So, I just attempted add Real Americas Voice via a PC web browser. I don't normally add channels this way, but I have in the past and it worked as intended. The issue this time is that it did successfully add the channel, but unfortunately, it isn't showing up on any of my ROKU devices. If I search for the channel to add, it shows that it is already added, but it is not showing up on the home screen. I would remove and re-add it, but there's no way to do this except from the home screen, and it isn't there. Is there any way to force this to show up, or refresh the device short of a factory reset? Maybe there's an alternate method of removing a channel that I'm not aware of, but I haven't found this option on the device or online account.

@Electricblue-

We've started seeing reports of individual installed channel apps not being shown in the home page channel grid.  These channels can be found and accessed via a channel search but this method is not very convenient.

This has been reported with a number of different installed channel apps, so it may be a random glitch not tied to any particular channel app.

Two methods have been reported as means of removing the channel app in the hope that a re-install will now be visible in the home page channel grid.  Note that these methods remove the channel app itself from your Roku account, but do NOT cancel any paid subscription you may have for this channel.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
VIA ROKU REMOTE APP ON ANDROID AND IOS DEVICES
When in the Roku remote app on your mobile device:

• If necessary, click "Devices" at the bottom of the screen, and connect to one of your Roku devices.

• Again at the bottom of the first screen click on the "Search" magnifying glass and search for your channel.

• Click AND HOLD the channel you wish to remove (a quick click will bring up the remote controls instead).

• Click on "Remove" and confirm.

Added YouTube tv channel today to Roku account. We have 3 Roku devices and the YouTube tv channel only appears on 1 device. I followed previous troubleshooting recommendations from older posts and checked for updates and restarted devices. Still does not show.

This seems to be happening a lot for numerous apps.  The solution is to remove the app and reinstall it.  See this post from @makaiguy for detailed instructions:

@KentM

This issue is occurring across different devices and different channels/apps when being installed from the online Roku Channel Store.

Refer to @makaiguy post describing the two methods (mobile app or secret menu) to remove and reinstall these individual apps.  Both methods should work for you.

https://community.roku.com/t5/Channels-viewing/YouTube-app-not-on-homescreen/td-p/1045650

After successfully uninstalling the app, recommended to restart the device and then install the channel/app from your device.

Cannot add one specific channel (app) to the Home screen!

Jump to solution

When I click on David Heavener TV channel it does not give me the option to add the channel to the Home screen, all it will let me do is open the channel. I already know how to open the channel, what I want is to add the channel to the Home screen so I can easily find it on the Home screen to launch it.

I have no problem adding MGM+ or any other channel to the Home screen but cannot add David Heavener TV to the Home screen-all it will let me do is open the channel.  It makes no sense but when I try to explain this to the Roku Tier 1 support they had trouble understanding what I was saying even though I sent them screenshots that clearly show what the problem is. I also contacted the channel and so far they don't seem to understand the problem I have with their channel much less how to fix it.

I have 4 Roku Ultra LT streaming players and I have the identical problem on all 4 of them.

I have no problem in viewing the channel, the problem is not being able to add the channel to the Home screen so I can launch it from the Home screen.
