Why does my YouTube update every time I open it?

So, I used to have 60 apps including YouTube installed on my Roku, which has worked perfectly fine for YEARS (app numbers have fluctuated but not less than around 50), but recently, I’ve been going to open up YouTube as I’ve been doing for years, and now it’s saying theres “not enough space to install YouTube” (it’s been installed and never uninstalled except recently to try to fix this issue and has been kept up to date) so I deleted apps and deleted apps down to around 49 before YouTube would open, then this morning I’ve deleted down to 32 and it just started working, whats going on?

This is often a symptom of the Roku's memory cache getting corrupted.

@CokeMan-

These things are just special purpose computers. Like their big brothers sometimes clearing things out by restarting them can correct problems. (Note that if yours is a Roku TV with "Fast start" enabled, turning it off and back on just puts it into and out of a standby state and does NOT give you a complete restart.)

Depending on your Roku model and Roku version number you'll find the System restart option under Settings > System > Power or if not there, under Settings > System

If a restart doesn't do it, or if you don't have sufficient control with the remote to navigate the Roku menus, you can also restart by pulling the power plug to the Roku for a few seconds then plugging it back in and waiting for it to restart.
