Up until today (12/8/23), I was able to watch Apple TV via my Roku Express on two devices in my house. All of a sudden, I can’t even get into the Apple TV app to put in my sign in info. All I get when I click on the app is a spinning wheel that doesn’t stop. The few times I got in, it wouldn’t let me sign in… just the spinning wheel again. I have uninstalled the app multiple times. Roku says that my Roku Express is not a supported device so I can’t get help from them. Apple TV works on my Smart TV. Was there a resolution to this problem?
Hi @fchamber,
Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!
We'd like to know more about this issue that you're having with the Apple TV since you're not able to sign in. How far is your Roku Express from your router? Are your other devices able to connect to the network without any issues or latency? How many devices do you have connected to your network right now? (e.g., TV, mobile phone, laptops, computer)
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
John
Did you restart** your Roku to clear its memory cache BEFORE reinstalling the channel? Without the restart you may not get a clean reinstall.
Depending on your Roku model you'll find the "System restart" option under either "Settings > System > Power" or if you don't have the Power option, under "Settings > System". If you don't have sufficient control to use the menus, or if it is just more convenient, you can also restart by pulling the power plug for a short while, then plugging it back in.
**On a Roku TV with "Fast TV Start" enabled, turning the TV off/on only puts you in/out of a low power standby state, it does NOT give you a complete restart. Use the methods above.
