Do you have to have a cable provider to watch syfy on roku? I've tried every option and still doesn't work. But I do not have a cable provider.

Please be aware that some channels require a TV or cable subscription to view the content and to gain access to the entire catalog of on-demand & live content on their channel. In order to access the content on that channel, you will need a TV or cable subscription to authenticate.

Yes, cable-type channels like SyFy require a TV provider account. If they do not offer a stand-alone subscription, they get paid through the subscription fees paid to provider accounts that carry them.
The TV provider account may be with cable or satellite, but it also can be with one of the streaming services that carry SyFy.
Much SyFy content can be accessed through a Peacock streaming account.
Groundedreason.com lists other streaming services that carry SyFy.
