I know it's been asked before, but what happened to the rte player channel? https://blog.roku.com/en-gb/rte-player-now-available-on-the-roku-platform-in-ireland
I can't find it in the channels store, and when I try add it by channel code I throws a 404 error. Was it pulled? The other threads on this topic never seemed to get an answer
Roku removed "private" channels awhile ago due to abuse from what was supposed to be Beta testing of a channel. It was replaced by a proper Beta testing setup. That is why a special channel code no longer works.
You can contact RTE directly if needed:

From their own FAQ is this:
What devices is RTÉ Player available on?
RTÉ Player is supported on any modern browser on your computer (Windows, Mac or Linux).
We are also available as an app on Apple devices (running a minimum of iOS 9.0) and on Android devices (running a minimum of Android 5.0). Search your app store for 'RTÉ Player'.
Casting is supported for Chromecast.
The RTÉ Player service is available on a range of Smart TVs.
We currently do not support Chromebook. We are not on any games consoles (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo), Amazon Fire HD, Amazon Fire TV Stick, or on Windows phones. Keep your eyes peeled for new product and platform launches coming soon.

Yea I contacted RTE and apparently they support Roku, but only on a single device, the Stick. So that's a pain in the ass 🙄
That makes no sense. The type of Roku should make no difference, at least as far as recent and current models. If you have a very old Roku, then some services will not support them.
Yea, I guess it's just laziness on their side to not have to support the other devices, even though it should work just fine. Typical government employee B.S.
